Bed Entrapment Solutions

Designed for the reduction of patient entrapment and injury

Residents continue to become caught, trapped or entangled in the area in and around the bed rail, mattress or bed frame, often resulting in serious injury and in some extreme situations, death.

Residents continue to become caught, trapped or entangled in the area in and around the bed rail, mattress or bed frame, often resulting in serious injury and in some extreme situations, death.

Entrapment usually occurs when patients are entering or exiting their bed without assistance as a result of delirium, confusion, agitation, or pain.

Patient profiles at high risk of entrapment are normally; frail, confused, restless, or who have uncontrolled body movements.

At Vitacare, we've designed a series of products to address the 7 High Risk Bed Entrapment Zones (see diagram below).  Most products are designed to fit standard hospital beds that are 6" x 36" x 80".  However, each product can be modified to suit each unique situation for different patients and facilities.  Please contact our customer service department at 1(800) 263-9068 or visit our Custom Product Developement section for more information.
